strange behavior

In the last couple days my S3 has gotten warm to the touch (botton front and back side) for no apparent reason. I checked to see what was running and found nothing unusual. So I pulled the battery and that helped. It happened again just now. I pulled the battery again. This time when I tried to put it to sleep by pressing the power button, it would go black, then wake up after just a couple seconds. And the battery started to drain before my eyes! Battery pull again and its back to normal....for now.

Any guess whats going on???

I've had a similar issue issue happening, and I think it is only since I installed the system update. It doesn't happen all the time. It seems to me that, since applying the update, my cell radio standby has been consuming a lot more battery power. I just downloaded a battery saver program to see if that will help, but I am not happy to see this happening. I was thrilled with my battery life before, and now and I constantly worried about running out of juice.
