Strange Folder Names in MicroSD Card

Hi everyone!

So it happened to me two days ago, I think. All my stuff on my sd card -the first character in all my folders - have been replaced with the Greek letter mu. Is all my stuff irretrievable? Am I boned?

I also had the same problem μ(Folder name) along with uuuuuuuu.uuu file names all around.

That's the bootable virus and could not erase or remove by simply formatting...

best way is format ur card using NTFS. simply download Apart app thru playstore. ( u should have rooted phone to work NTFS format). once formatted android system would show the blank card pop up in notification, but don't worry...!! again u need to format the card using same app, but this time using FAT32..

once finished, u can enjoy the sd card free from bootable virus !!!!

Hey guys i found a real solution to get back the pictures.. save the lost.dir file to your computer like copy paste on your desktop. now hold shift key and right click on folder. now press open command window here. in the command window write "ren *. *.jpg" without quotes. this will turn all your files to jpg. now you can see the pics.. the ones that are video's will remain un viewable. still working on the video's. i expect the same to work for them. i will cut paste all the good jpg files out of the folder into another folder and the press shift right click again on lost.dir folder to change the jpg files into mpg or mpeg or avi or etc.. by writing ren *.jpg *.mpg in the command window... hope this will solve you guys problems aswell.. and then now i just cannot trust my phone anymore to not screw up my pictures anymore :/
