strange popups

I keep getting wired popups, ads on my phone. I could be doing anything like writing a text, playing a game and they will popup at random times. Ran a scan and nothing came up. Very confused.... One was off Vodafone and another was a competition off something called payforit

It's being generated by a shady app. You will have to try abs figure out which recently downloaded app is causing it and Uninstall. Try Airpush detector to find the culprit.

Used one and it came back saying all clear so tried another and came back with four apps, surprisingly one was sky sports score centre

Are they in notification bar? If not are they full screen ads? Can you post screens hots?

Yes. Full screen ads. I'll get a shot if it comes up again http://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-android-virus/ read up on this and its sort of worried me now. Had cm security installed but didn't pick anything up. Tried that avast and picked up a couple of things. I'll see how I get on

Try this :
Settings > accounts > Google > privacy >ads > opt out of interest based ads
"Check the box"



**Most likely it is an app that you recently downloaded or live wallpaper.

Just checked that and it was already ticked. All else fails, I'll have to reset. UPDATE. Installed avast as per the article, let it do its thing, scan and all that, it found something which cm security didn't. Was some file, can't think what exactly. Removed all it said to and been perfect since this morning. Hats off to avast is all I can say
