Hello,
I'm new here, and kind of technologically challenged. Good with cars, but not so much computers... anyway, I have an Optimus V that has some weird issues. Texting the gf, fell asleep with the phone in my bed, charging. Woke up this morning with a VERY hot phone in the small of my back. The phone is rooted with SuperOneClick. I can boot into recovery just fine with the button combination, install roms, no problem. The issue I'm having is that's basically all I can do... the phone will not boot normally. It gets to various stages of booting, sometimes as far as the lock screen, then immediately crashes and goes back to the LG splash. Sometimes I get a "not enough charge to start" message, sometimes not. I have a different (presumably working, it was in a working phone) battery in there, no good. The buttons flash sometimes when the phone tries to boot. I have tried flashing a backup from a couple of days ago and a copy of Harmonia 1.9 (excellent ROM, by the way, loved it while i was using it) at least twice. The first flash of 1.9 took a long time on "setting perms" but ran through. The second flash went at a normal pace, but nothing has broken the phone out of the loop. If someone could post clear instructions (I can follow instructions, but that's about it!) on what to do, I would be very very appreciative. I assume it's not bricked because I can still boot to recovery?
Thanks,
Brian

How long were you on the rom?

Id suggest a fresh flash, or a GB rom.

What are your steps to flashing a new rom? Maybe your not wiping properly.

I had used Harmonia 1.7, or whatever the previous version was, overclocked to 480min 787 max using No Frills CPU control. I do have a new phone that VM sent me, I've tried a new charger, nothing, new battery, nothing. The phone will not charge reliably with the power off, even. It always seems to think it's on USB power too, regardless of whether or not it actually is. I believe I rooted using GingerBreak, this was back aroun New Years, I do know I have a ClockworkMod recovery.

Alright. closing this thread. I've got another phone from VM now. Of course, I can't get the damn thing to root, but that's a tale of woe for another thread...
