Strange - Screen Lock No Longer Active

Running 2.3.3 version of OS, I did a factory reset. All was working fine last night. However I find today that the lock screen is no longer active. After screen goes dark if I press Home or Power button I see the lock screen for less than a second and then instantly goes to my home application screen - no slide lock. While I think I prefer this just curious what may have caused this. Only change from last night when this was working until now is upgrade of Beautiful Widgets and JuiceDefender, neither has any lock screen disabling options. I've also done a reboot of the device and it I still don't get the lock screen displayed. Strange, any clues?

It appears you may have to do a factory data reset after install to get everything to settle in (and then a battery pull, especially periodically during re-installation of apps). I found that, in certain cases, sites that recognized my X previously, needed a new introduction ... as if it were a new phone. Looks like it's a major shift of OS.

Otherwise, few problems once past the install process. Lovin' it, big time!!!

I did a complete factory reset/wipe on my phone (due to the sync icon issue) and reinstalled all apps manually. It was working fine and then next day it's not. I did a battery pull and still no lock screen. Everything else working fine and GBread just feels like it's running smoother, but would like to know why the lock screen is now disabled (to understand if there is any other underlying issue).

Are you talking about the stock screen lock or the app Screen Lock? The latter doesn't work with GB, I found. It does what you said ... flashes the lock screen and then to the home screen. I deleted it and use the stock, activating by pushing the on/off power button briefly.

Stock, no app for screen lock. Briefly touching the power on/off button or the home key just briefly shows the lock screen and then right to the home screen.

The app "myLock" does that. I used it for my Atrix, but if you didn't download any apps, I'm at a loss there.

Maybe something glitched in the download process. Try downloading it again to your PC, change name as before, drag file to X via USB mode and follow the directions as before. Just a thought, but certainly not a pleasant one.

Can't do an update of GB, tried to do it again and it fails with an error (figured you can update and update). Not sure what's up, guess I'm ahead in some respects as some people look to get a feature like this

Weird, I've been running the leaked GB and I noticed the same thing a few days ago. I think I can agree with your observation that it happened after updating beautiful widgets. Honestly I'm not really complaining but I'm curious why it happened.
