I downloaded Flash Player 11 but I still can't stream amazon prime on my galaxy nexus. There's no error msg...video just doesn't start. Any ideas why? Thanks.

I don't think Amazon Instant will allow streaming on general Android devices, except for specific ones, including the Logitech Revue. It won't stream on my ASUS Transformer or my DX, either. I wish it did work, though.

Are there any apps I can download that may help me watch videos I've purchased to stream via amazon? There seem to be a few in the market, but not sure if they will actually do what I'm hoping they will. Any help would be much appreciated!

I really doubt it. I'm sure Amazon has them highly DRM'd to prevent unauthorized use, but if there are, I wouldn't mind knowing either.

not sure what you guys are looking at, but as amazon instant is browser based, as long as you request the desktop version of amazon.com the instant streaming works great. double tap the video for full screen. i've already watched 5 or so movies on the nexus via amazon instant...

Thanks for that. I stand (happily) corrected. I was able to use it on my ASUS TF using the full browser mode.

On my DX, I could stream, but it really couldn't handle the data, with lots of dropouts, and erratic response to keying.

With the smaller DX screen space, buttons were precariously close together, and I accidentally purchased a movie by hitting the 1-Click button. As an aside. I learned that Amazon policy is no refunds on Digital Orders, but they did make an exception for me when I called them.

We have an Amazon Prime account, and we use Amazon Instant Video fairly often on our Google TV, but IMHO, the Netflix UI is much easier and intuitive, and will stick with Netflix on the DX, and use Amazon and Android Market as backup sources for the ASUS and Google TV.

I watch amazon like every night. Opera browser won't allow you to click on the play button so you can't do it on opera.

How do I request the desktop version? Is it an option on the site itself or int he settings menu of the phone? Sorry, am new to this.

Got it! Shame I'm in costa rica right now, so licensing issues are preventing me from watching! Thanks much for all the help folks. So great to be able to crowd source knowledge and get an answer so quickly while I'm on vacation. Awesome.

I still can't get Amazon instant to play on the Galaxy Nexus.

I have Dolphin HD browser set to "desktop" mode but that didn't work...

Any help appreciated! :)

you must have adobe flash 11 from android market installed. I know that I can't watch amazon on opera but I don't have dolphin so i'm not sure if it will work on there. But I do know it works on the native browser so I always have to use that.

yep you need flash. also you can request the desktop version right from the browser in ics. just hit options and "request desktop site". save it as a bookmark and you're golden. don't forget to double tap the movie once it's started for full screen (and it IS full screen on the nexus, the soft keys disappear)

it's working fine now.... better than I expected. the video quality is quite decent.

Is it just me or is the selection of recent movies quite limited on Amazon Prime Instant streaming?
I'm new to this.... (or is it just wrong to compare this to Netflix streaming service? ) :)

Actually, with the stock browser in the default mode and Amazon Prime I have no issues with streaming videos - looks great on my TV as well. Of course, I only really stream on WiFi in case that has anything to do with it.
