Neithers really better. Some like my backup bc it backs up homescreens but I wouldn't use that feature, just use Nova launcher for that.
Tib is the classic backup app tho.

For text s there are numerous backup apps, they should all work fine.

I gave gummy a cursory try once, but have basically been a loyal AOKP and (more recently) Axiom crossbreed (4.04 leak base with all the features of AOKP mixed in) user.

Gummy has a strong following tho. it's a solid rom for sure.

Glad you're getting the hang of it. It's a slppery slope tho, pretty soon you might be flashing roms nightly and getting anxious at 2 am waiting for new kernel versions to drop.

;)

The Monolith series (monolith 2 is current) is the stable variety, the Patient Zero series is the more experimental branch. While patient zero has been pretty stable, if you don't want any issues you should go with monolith 2.

ok i may give it a try going to stick with what i have for a bit and see.. dont want to get carried away too fast lol

so i guess i would just need the get ready package and the crossbread m2 download right? then backup what i have clear all the data and cache install get ready then rom and reboot?

Yes. The get ready package contains the 4.04 radios and bootloader. You should check the md5 sum for those, because flashing bad radio files can be a pain or worse.

The order that you flash them - get ready and the rom - doesnt really matter. I would just do a reboot in between flashing each one.

So for example i would do this:

back up everything with TiB if you want to have your apps and the data for the user apps (such as games, don't restore System Data basically ever).

recovery mode - wipe cache and dalvik - flash get ready pack.

reboot.

Wait a few min before you mess with anything, then back to recovery.

Wipe Data, Cache, Dalvik cache, and Format /system (Crossbreed specifically wipes these for you, unlike many roms, but it doesnt hurt to do it twice, and it's a good habit anyway, so I would just go ahead and do it). Then flash crossbreed.

reboot. Wait a couple min for the kernel to settle in before you go thru activation and you're all set.
