I somehow got my 8.9 into a boot loop and only the samsung logo appears. I can get it to the "downloading" part by press left volume. What do I do from here? How do I fix this? Can I get the stock 8.9 firmware from somewhere?
Tough one. Can recompile the kernel from source and push it down to your Tablet in download mode. Take one of the Kernels from XDA for the 10.1 wifi model and push it down.....
At this point, you'd have better luck asking in XDA-Developers in the 10.1 forum. Activity is low on the 8.9 at this point.

Have you tried going into the recovery mode (the other option next to download mode)?
When I first got my 8.9, I tried flashing the 10.1 rooting hack and it failed. Since the device was in download mode, with nothing to download, I manually rebooted it. It kept going into an endless reboot loop as well. I finally got into recovery mode, and it automatically did some type of 'repair' and fixed it. I was very nervous for a few minutes thinking I just broke my $500 device after only owning it for 15 minutes.
I did the same thing .. Whenever I try to get into recovery mode, i get the bool loop... The only way I can fix it (right away) is to load the asian region rom (that's the only one I could find..) but it works and all my settings were the same.. I had thought that I lost root but that wasnt the case.
Here is the details from my original issue, however I am still trying to figure out why I cant get into recovery mode, but if you want your fearness back, just use the asian region for now.
