First off - I think I made a serious of noob mistakes that have resulted in my problem. I desperately want to be able to recover my phone, so please be nice.

I have a rooted incredible with the leaked 2.05 OTA radio update and have been running Cyanogenmod 6 rc3 and then 6.0. This morning I tried updating to 6.0.1 but for some reason it didn't update. It kept rebooting to 6.0 and telling me I needed to update again.

I decided to just unroot the phone and go back to stock to take advantage of the stock 2.2 update. I put the earlier 2.1 stock file on my SD card and pressed power and volume down to boot into recovery. The phone then started to update to the older version, but ultimately wouldn't do it, telling me this was an older version.

I realized this was because of the leaked radio update I had. Until I can fix that, I want to just reboot back into CM6, but I can't. The only way to turn the phone on and off is to pull the battery, but the phone won't boot, it just goes into recovery -- and I can't use the volume or power buttons at all to select menu items. So I have to pull the battery again...

So I'm stuck there. Any ideas how to at least fix so I can use CM6 again?

I should also mention that I recently replaced the digitizer, which was cracked, and almost everything works, except now I can't use the trackball :(

Are you sure recovery mode isn't trying to check some sort of zip file you left on the root of your SD card? What happens if you boot the phone and wait (for example) 30 minutes?

If you're in recovery, simply load a ROM. Skyraider's 3.0 is a good choice.

Download the ROM to your computer...pull the SD card out of your phone and put it into a reader attached to your computer...copy the file to the SD card...put the SD card back in your phone and reflash.

He boots to recovery but can't move around. Keys aren't working.

If I load up a ROM on SD card and boot into recovery with power/volume down, would that auto-load?

You're rooted, right?

If so, you want to use the volume control to select "install zip from sdcard," hit the trackball, then select "choose zip from sdcard." Select the zip file you want to flash, verify, then sit back and let it do its thing.

I would do that if I could -- but the keys don't work, and the trackball doesn't work.

Just tried this, but nothing happened after about 40 minutes of sitting on the recovery screen.
