Stuck oppening any new app

I'm using Android 8.1 and usually when opening a new app I was prompted to choose if I wanted to run it at start-up and then if I wanted notifications.

What I experience lately is that after the first one, the second dialog pops-up blank, the 'accept' and 'cancel' buttons don't work and I'm forced to restart the phone.

I don't know if it matters but I recently started using F-droid. However it also happens with play store apps.

How could I solve this? Can I turn off those prompts?

Try it in safe mode (google it for your phone - there are different ways to get into it, depending on the phone). If everything (not any apps you installed - safe mode disables all of them) works in safe mode, it's an app you installed that's causing the problems (which is what I suspect).

Uninstall F-droid

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone do you have? Standard Android doesn't ask you about having apps run at startup -- this isn't Windows!;)

I can't open the new apps in safe mode. After a reset I can use the phone normally, but I have to restart it every time I open a new app.
