Hi all. I've recently updated my Samsung Galaxy S4 to Lollipop, and now have this message stuck on my notification bar. I tried to look on various topics here, disabled the sync for my Google account, deleted Cache and Data from my Gallery app, but the pesky notification is still there. I've disabled/uninstalled Google + way before updating to Lollipop. Any other idea how to remove it?

I tried unchecking it at the Gallery app, but it doesn't let me, the tick box is disabled on the 'on' state.

Ok, solved, I unticked the notification checkbox for 'Google Play services' and the stuck notification disappeared.

doesnt "Solve" the original source cause, but this does make it go away. only problem is now that if google play services needs updating, i won't know until another app tells me to, and i like being able to do it in advance.

so this here is definitely going to make it stop showing. USE THIS METHIOD guys :) (for those of you just stopping by, if you have this problem, too.)

Go to Settings > Accounts > Google, tap on your Google account, and uncheck "Sync Picasa Web Albums". After a reboot, the notification should go away.
