I just found a stuck pixel... I've had this device since May 25th. This is my first and only problem. I didn't drop it, push the lcd, or apply pressure. What do I do?![]()
If you do choose to try to get warranty work done on it you will have 2 options.
1. Sprint store that does repairs. They will either warranty replace it with a refurb phone or fix it in house. Cost is 35 for in warranty device. I think. Someone chime in here with pricing.
2. Contact HTC and send the phone directly to them. That option is cheaper but takes longer.
If you dont have insurance In warranty is not free.
Its only free if it goes directly back to the manufacturer.
Sprint will still charge you a service charge for basically being a middle man to get you a replacement. Your paying them to have the phone swapped out / repaired immediately versus having to send it off.
If you do have insurance then yes its free in store for repair or replacement.
I definitely don't want a refurbished phone. I went through 3 htc arrives, 2 3vos, and like 7 blackberry curves.
Never had good experience with a refurb.
I'll just deal with it. It's not THAT noticeable.

Holy Crap. 7 blackberry curves?
I repair and refurbish devices for a living and i pride my self in my quality of work. I can speak from experience the BB curve 83xx and 93xx devices are pretty well built. Not sure what caused you to go thru so many of them but sounds like if you got them all from the same place they are rushing work and quality control is being sacraficed.
I agree with you though, i my self am not happy buying a brand new phone only to be handed a refurb. Now after a year i can accept that. But for sure in the first 6 months of my devices life i expect better.
Also i am more tolerant of a Factory Refurb versus an Asurion refurb.
When the manufacturer refurbishes a device they are using higher quality parts.
Non manufacturer have the ability to buy lower quality parts to enhance profits. At least some places do this. When i buy parts i try to balance quality with price. Basically i wont use parts that i would not accept for my own device repair.
