Stuck with Phone

I bought the LG G3 after reading the rave reviews and now I am locked into a 30-month contract. The screen is crystal clear but the unit eats power like the ghosts from Pac-Man. A fully-charged battery goes dead after taking about 20 photos; even at the battery saver setting. I bought a spare battery and that lasts about the same; leaving me with a dead phone for the rest of the day. Re-charging can take up to 4 hours. Another problem, the rear power switch often turns the phone on when placing on a surface or in my pocket; wasting more energy. I love the beautiful display, the quick time to get on-line, the ability to use micro-SD cards to increase storage and the low-cost but the power issue is killing me. Other phones are not able to increase storage via the micro SD cards or switch batteries; so I must keep using this phone. I heard that Samsung recently removed the ability to increase storage; no more micro SD cards.

Something is definitely wrong. Try a factory reset. If the device continues to have poor performance and battery life then it's probably a defective device. I'd suggest contacting the retailer for an exchange or refund.

If it's updated completely, it sounds like you desperately need an FDR. My G3 ate power like crazy until the 3 VZW update, then it ran twice as long. I never went up to 5.0 because of it.

Thanks. I can't do a factory reset as I don't want to lose all my photos & phone #s, etc. I never heard of an FDR. What is that?

You should move your photos to your SD card, and sync your contacts with Google. Then you'll be able to factory reset. Hope this helps.
