I call it Shadow and Light:
Shadows shift
revealing Light
which blinds and burns
and breaks the peace
of this Night.
Is your smile
a friendly one?
Or a wicked grimace
inadvertently displaying
a wicked intent?
Or is it a sad
longing smile
of a dream never had
that floats on the edge
of being tangible?
The Shadows conceal
what Light would reveal
silently wishing for
and silently dreaming of
each other?s appeal.
The darkness of Shadow
distorts reason.
It moves subtly
and at random
fleeing from Light?s treason.
The glare of Light
distorts logic.
Through careful revelation
and distraction
it dampens the Shadow?s magic.
Meeting each dusk and dawn
always, forever
the Light and Shadow
often see each other
but they'll never be together.

I'm just glad that I did it.

I made it up on the spot
Without the need to moan.
I hope I do not screw this up
For I feel I'm finally doing well!
Unless this is actually a failure.
I don't know; I can't really tell.

There was a soft "th" and a hard one.
