Stump root?

You flash illusion?

Yep, loving it so far. Thanks for all the help 😊

Edit: Do i need to let the battery fully drain to 0 today, and charge it all the way to 100%? I saw a video saying it's a good recommendation after installing a new ROM, but idk if it was true or not

Do not do this. Just use normally.

Yep. This.

And...you're welcome, glad you're enjoying it!

Hey, 1 more question. How do you manage to get 6 hours SOT? I'm using adaptive brightness and still down to 52% with almost 2 hours of SOT. I changed the Governor under the "Kernel Fire" setting to Powersaver, hoping that would help by underclocking a little but by the looks it didn't help much.

Do you think it could just be the battery and i should replace it?

Possible it's the battery but hard to tell for sure. One thing I do that you may not is I keep my phone on 3.5G (reads as H+) rather than LTE. Not sure how much that helps but as I can do everything I need to on that network setting I leave it there. I also use greenify and DS battery saver, but those seem a little more focused on standby battery life.

One thing seems common to 5.0 ROM's and that is that they need a day or two to settle in. Give it some time. Another wild card it seems to me is the apparent wide variability in the various G 3 phones. Some people report all sorts of just weird stuff. Some of that has to be user error, but not all of it. Not sure why that would be. My phone seems rock solid and it's never given me an issue that was not my fault.

This is a long shot, but did you by chance use flashify to install your ROM?

I used flashify to flash TWRP, so yess. Is that my problem? /:

Well I'm nowhere near experienced enough to claim a causal relationship here, but my first flashed ROM was via flashify and a few people over at XDA recommended I stay clear of it after I experienced some wonky behavior in the ROM (something about it not loading all the partitions correctly, can't recall exactly). So take this with a big grain of salt cause there could be dozens of other reasons. But after I wiped and did a manual ROM install the issues I was having disappeared. I'd check and post in the illusion ROM forums at xda first, then go from there :-)

Okay, well I'll read up on XDA in a little. But what is the difference from how i installed my ROM, and from manually installing, as you mentioned? If its not too hard for you too explain, lol

Super easy actually. With a manual install you just download the ROM zip file to your sd card, reboot to recovery, and install from there. Flashify is a third party app that detects and installs the ROM for you. Given how easy it is to install a ROM in recovery I'm not sure why flashify is so popular, but this could just be ignorance on my part.

Okay well i may have told you wrong then lol. The video i watched had me flash TWRP via flashify, and then i downloaded the ROM and moves it to the root of my phone (a.k.a internal storage - at least i think, lol) using ES file explorer. Then i rebooted into recovery, wiped and installed the ROM while in recovery.

I agree, flashing and making backups from TWRP is extremely simple. It's almost fool proof.

How did you root? Towelroot, purpledrake? Are you on lollipop 5.0 in UK?

Thank you for the info. I really am a noob with flashing and all that. Do you know if anyone is close to being able to do it?

I don't really know that. I too am waiting for a root method for 5.0 let's hope we dont wait too long.

When you make a backup in TWRP these are checked by Default:

* Boot
Cache
* Data
Recovery
* System
Android Secure
* Enable Compression
Generate MD5

Is it recommended to check any other?

Thanks!
