Stupid Effing USB and Mass storage

I've tried over the last 2 weeks to get my stupid phone to work in mass storage mode on all my computers, I have a desktop and laptop running windows 7, and my work computer running WIN XP. Now, the home desktop running 7 seems to work fine. And the laptop running windows 7 doesn't, however I have a virtual XP machine on it that will connect to the phone in mass storage mode. The XP machine at work is driving me nuts, I can't connect to it. I've gotten drivers off of here, directly from Samsung and so on. I've tried enabling and disabling usb debugging, rebooting with it connected and so on.

Does anybody have any suggestions, or is this likely a computer issue more than a phone issue since it does connect to some. I'm running one of Adrynalyne's test kernals (#5) and superdark Rom.
