Stupid Fast kernel Released

I don't know, my wife has a D2 and she's sitting right next to me and she has perfect 3g, when i'll drop from 3g to 1x and go back to 3g often. So that's what makes me wonder if it's the kernel not Verizon. :(

I'm almost even thinking about going back to the D02-LV1100 Voodoo kernel that Dirrk had. But i know if 2.2 is here anytime soon i'll have to uninstall it again, when i could just wait til 2.2 and the new Voodoo kernels. Or i could go back to JT's kernels and see if those are better.

Well motorola phones tend to have stronger reception anyway. I don't know if that's your problem, hard to say.

If you go back to Dirrk's, you might try a minfree manager to enhance performance since that's what geeknik appears to be doing...

I just went back to JT's 11/16 LV test kernel for now.

I didn't really have really big issues with Voodoo (Beautiful Widgets would FC once and a while), but with 2.2 possibly being close i don't think i wanna do all the work just yet. Hopefully JT, Dirrk or Geeknik will come out with some 2.2 compatible Voodoo kernels afterwards.

Alright, for some reason JT's 11/16 kernel in setCPU wont go past 800Mhz, even when i have it set to 1000Mhz max 200Mhz min.

Fixed that with a reboot, ignore that.

SF Kernels are still available through Geeknik's twitter page. But after flashing SF 1.5 (stable) my battery life suffered badly. What kernel is good for battery life? I am on the latest of JT Super Clean ROM available from ROM Manager.

So whenever I press the power/lock button after using my Fascinate, I've noticed that the capacitive buttons remain illuminated for an indefinite amount of time.

Anyone else having this problem? This does NOT occur whenever I let my phone go idle and it locks itself automatically.
I'm having this issue and I believe its causing my battery drain, anyone else?

1.5 and 1.54 should only be used for DJ05 and not DI01. Upon shutting the phone off, my buttons stay lit for a few seconds but this a feature of DJ05. If you put 1.5 or 1.54 on DI01, you would be better off flashing a kernel made of that build.

I did I
Jt super clean dj05 and geeknik SF, the latest one in rom manager and although the system is super fast, smooth, and stable; battery life is suffering. I brought processor speeds to 200 min and 800 Max and it still runs good. Tad slower. Is there a way to maintain battery life?

Does this have the circle battery or just the stock one?

using JT's Super Clean ROM Version 4 -updated 10/30 with the custom themes and so far after a 100% the battery will last me 1 day and half with minor facebooking, tons of email and sms and some web browsing. I thought it was glitch but i tried it on my wife's fascinate and she can go unplug for 2 full days ... still wondering how it's happening

Amante, I have noticed that the battery drops like a rock but a reboot usually brings it back up. Not sure why. I switched back to stock kernel a few hours ago and was frustrated with it's tepid pace. Just switched back to dl01. Going to keep brightness at lowest, no vibrate, and minimize sounds. I do most of my surfing on the phone and I know that kills a battery quick.

i did all those vibrate off, touch sound was all off too. I am using the voodoo with lag fix. my phone will probably last 2 days if I only use it for calls and email, but i cant resist checking on facebook every now and then

Ok just installed the JT superclean ROM with ROM manager, went very well! Next tried to install the stupidfast kernel and well lets put it this way I must have reinstalled the superclean ROM again! Right when the kernel it goes right into the ROM setup and basically reinstalls the ROM. I had to basically totally redo the phone again very frustrating! I tried it another way but could not find the .zip on my SD card. What the heck did I do wrong?

Ok so I tried it a different way, Dowloaded the superfast kernel zip directly from his website, made sure it was the one for my d101. Installed it with ROM manager, all looked good. So how can I tell if its actually installed? The kernel is still listed as 2.6.29 in the settings, and my Quadrant score is 930 which is about the same as my phone before the Superclean + stupidfast combo. Phone does to seem to run a little better

930 is pretty good. People that get higher than that have the lagfix installed and it inflates the score. The kernel version 2.6.29 will display even with the latest stupid fast kernel installed.

How do you figure out which kernal to download? I saw a link on the lag fix forum that had multiple instances of kernals, but didn't say how to determine which one you should use.

Any help would be greatly appreciated... my phone is super lagy and I just rooted it.

you can see the kernel builder info in setcpu if you have it installed. Just remember to not do any wiping when installing a kernel.

I bricked my 1st fascinate by trying to flash a voodoo kernel and was super gun shy to try another. I flashed the v 1.54 using the sgs kernel flasher and all I have to say is "heeheeheeheehee"
