stupid question about preorders

Do they run out? Like if I waited till I woke up in the morning to order, would I risk not getting one? I know it's a dumb question but I've never done a preorder before. I'm on T-Mobile.

Have Samsung ever ran out on pre-order? Can't recall, but chances are it will be available all through out until September 15th. Unless this sells like hot cakes on fire 🔥 but with the hefty price and many folks rocking large screens on S8 Plus, it is very highly unlikely.

Samsung isn't like Apple. They won't run out of preorder Note 8s, at least they haven't run out of Note preorders in the past.

im nog taking any chances i tried to wait til the end of the preoder period for pixel xl 128 and i got the shaft with penetration

Another stupid question about preorders- If I preorder tonight online, and decide on launch day I want to go to the store instead, how would that be handled with Verizon? Anyone ever deal with this. I'm real split down the middle of what I want to do, I'm off of work that day but my local stores are unreliable at best. So I'm torn with the reliability of preordering, although I have to leave that night at 5, and fedex usually delivers late around here. Or I can try to go to the store and pick one up, but I don't know what they normally get in for stock?

There are no stupid questions.

If you decide you want to go to the store you'd literally have to cancel before they ship and charge you. Verizon is so namby-pamby about when they ship, and all they'll tell you is they ship in order of received. I went into a store on launch day for the Note7, and got the color I wanted and I live in a rural area. Not sure if it's the same for you, friend.

Keep in mind if you order tonight that Verizon is one of the few carriers that arrives a day early. Last two preorders I did I got the S7E two days early and the V10 a day early.

Apple preorders can get pushed out a few weeks if you don't order right away, I've never seen a big delay on any Android phones.

I have yet to ever have a Verizon phone arrive early lol. I think it's that you live in a rural area. I live in the woods, but it's the woods between two decently populated areas. That's my biggest concern really. I have the day off, but leave for the night at 5, and last year my Note 7 came at 4:15 pm lol. The iphone I ended up with came at 4:30. I know it's mostly whether or not I want to gamble time wise, but what I'm also wondering is whether or not I will get their "Up to $480 off the price of the note 8", in store.

Yeah, I haven't either, that I can remember anyways. My wife with her iphone preorders though, that's no joke. Never seen her put that much effort into typing quickly and accurately, not hitting f5 as fast as possible.

thanks for heads up about possible earliness through VZW. I leave for vacay the day after launch and would love to possibly get it a day before launch so i can setup before vacay. Or maybe im better off waiting til i get back to turn on.... decisions decisions

TMO in my area actually ran out of coral blue N7 last year so I went with Black. After the first recall, I turned in the phone and they were out of black but had blue.

Notes usually don't run out. I don't see it happening. Samsung produces enough devices to fulfill needs unlike Apple who artificially reduces the production quantity to brainwash others to think it's so great since it's sold out.

Just a quick 'note' here on pre-orders, the only downside to waiting, is the estimated ship date could be pushed out the longer you wait.
