I seem to recall reading something about this issue a while back but couldn't find it when I searched just now. Perhaps one of you can help.

Anyway, I picked up my tablet this morning to find the battery had died. This surprised me because it had around fifty percent at least when I went to bed. After I booted up I checked battery history and found the following. Doesn't seem good...

That's called "drop off the cliff", and it means the battery grew a dendrite (Lithium Battery Dendrite links for more than you want to know). The only "fix" is a new battery. You might try to copy some of the articles and convince the seller that it's a manufacturing defect covered under the warranty (it wasn't your decision to use lithium battery, it was the manufacturer's), but that's like rolling water uphill.

Thanks. Do you happen to know how I should expect this to behave in the meantime? Will it drop off again like clockwork? Or is this just going to slowly get worse?

Edit: It hasn't happened again in the past several days.

It occurred again last night. Nvidia is replacing the tablet under warranty. I'd be content to just mail it in for a battery replacement but I guess it must be easier for them to just replace the tablet.

I would be happy with the full device replacement. Sure they could crack it open, replace the battery but this way they are eliminating the problem completely with a full replacement.

Nvidia sent a brand new tablet via overnight shipping and included the return label for my previous tablet in the box. This whole process was taken care of with no cost to me. That is exceptional customer service. I'm impressed.

You can't even think of complaining about service like that. I wish more OEM's would treat their customers like this.
