Never seen this before but I turned on the pixel 2 and I of course get prompted to enter my pin but NOTHING happens! I enter the pin and nothing! I cannot go any further. Tried rebooting, no good. Can’t get into the device at all. Doesn’t tell me incorrect pin try again just does nothing then returns to sleep mode. If I can’t get past this I have a new brick. Any ideas anyone?

Edit: was able to get into safe mode or recovery mode not sure which but won’t let me past the start screen. This is not looking good.

Oh no! How horrible. I was just abouy to suggest trying to boot it into Safe Mode but I see that that did not yield any results. Are you still getting notifications?

No can’t get past the sign in screen

Thats the thing with beta unexpected errors like this
Yeah understood, but never seen anything like this. Lots of beta caused issues over the years but this is a new one and quite possibly insurmountable. I put my sim in my new SE for now so I have a phone. Always good to have backup.

Wondering if there is anyway to do a factory wipe from the boot up screen

No I agree, i never had a beta do that also , most was severe app crashes or OS. Most likely going have to factory reset in recovery , but try playing around little going in and out of recovery and safe mode maybe by chance can get it going

I'm you at least have a backup phone that you can use in the meantime!

Damm..you cant get in the phone:(

Anyway to do a factory reset without going past the Lock Screen? I don’t know of one. Holding vol. down and power gets to the first page of recovery mode but then it’s like the screen won’t respond to any touches. So can’t get past that first screen. I think I’m pretty well F’d. Will play around with it more later this afternoon

In recovery u can do factory reset , does it allow u to move with volume keys then select with power button is it possible in that mode ?

I was able to get into recovery mode but the screen just shows a dead looking droid and says “no command” and won’t go any further. Never seen anything like this before.

Hit power and up one more time until recovery shows

Not sure what you mean. I’ve hit recovery mode and get to that dead end screen that says no command. Once there I can do nothing but long press power until it shuts down. Or alternately after a couple of minutes it will reboot on its own back to my Lock Screen that I cant sign into.
I appreciate your helpful suggestions but I think my new reality is I have acquired a pixel brick.
I’ve had smart phones for 20 years or more and installed custom roms, tweaked all kinds of settings, ran all the android betas since that option was first available and never bricked a phone ever. While not really bricked as in dead it is in a never ending loop that goes no where. Disappointed by this to say the least but as you said betas have bugs as we all know and it’s user beware always, but I’ve been on this one since it came out and it has run perfectly. I’m not so sure it’s the beta causing the issue. A software failure of some type obviously. Oh well, now I’m android-less but have a really stellar iPhone running the latest ios14 beta that is working really well. So there is that.
We have one small cell phone repair shop in my town. I might stop in there and see if they know anything.
At least there is comfort in the fact it is an almost 3 year old pixel and not a much newer one. But dang, the pixel 2 was one sweet device,,,,until now of course.
