Sudden yellow cast on display of tablet?

Okay, a little background. Not even six weeks - more like four - after I purchased the Galaxy Tab S 8.4, I had to have it in for warranty repair because the display screen was cracked. Took freaking forever to get it back fixed (I'm thinking along the lines of a month to six weeks, I haven't looked up the dates yet) - but February to March-ish. Well, last night, I was getting ready to go upstairs, I put it in stand-by mode. Got upstairs, brought it back up, and it's got this yellow-ish cast to the screen. Since my glasses were dirty, at first I thought the auto-brightness somehow got triggered, and that wasn't it. Couldn't (and still can't) figure out what's going on with it, and it was off all night (okay, that was 6 hours), and I power it up, the yellowish color is still there today. I've tried rebooting it with the power and volume button - still there. Turn it off again. Wait for it to charge - it was only down to say, 70% by the time we finished trying to mess with the display, and now when I power it up, it's all working again.

I've had it suddenly switch to screen lock mode before, and the screen lock thing is a problem I had occasionally on my old Nexus 7, but this is new, so any ideas in case it happens again?

If you have HDMI adapter, connect your tablet to a TV with HDMI input, the problem can verify easily. If the yellowish color is only seen on your tablet and it's ok on TV, probably the LCD cable is loose. Disconnect, reconnect and secure it with tape will fix the problem.
If both displays have the same yellowish color, the problem is from main board.

Thanks for your help. I sent it back to the extended warranty company after discussing it with them on the phone (it very quickly went from happening for just a second to staying that way unless I held my thumb next to the "Samsung" icon, and it's irreparable. They just submitted a credit to Amazon for the original purchase price - which works out, because Amazon has dropped the price, so the "original purchase price + tax" covered the tablet PLUS the two year extended warranty leaving us with a balance of $7 to pay. And since my husband has a Prime membership, free, fast shipping! I've been using my old Nexus 7 since the Galaxy Tab "broke down" (had to steal it back from my son, who wasn't using it anyway), and I never realized how big of a difference there was in screen size, not to mention battery duration.

All in all, I'm exceptionally glad I got the extended warranty. This wasn't something that I caused, as far as I can tell, but the warranty company took care of me, even if they did take three weeks to get around to telling us that it was unable to be repaired. I've had problems come up with cell phones (even before smart phones) and the holder of the cell phone contract (depending on when, the family plan with my in-laws or the family plan with my husband), no one ever considered that dropping stuff seemingly a past time of mine, with hand problems caused by MS, not to mention tremors. I went through six months with the last non-smart phone I had where only half the buttons worked. Luckily, I could call most of the people I needed to using speed dial. ;)
