Another vote here for The Witcher 3 here, I loved Dragon Age Inquisition but The Witcher 3 is doing an even better job of drawing me into the world so far.
Also agree with the Fallout New Vegas suggestion as well as Skyrim, brilliant games.
If you're up for something interesting with slighly shonky combat, Alpha Protocol is a few years old and slightly buggy but it did some really interesting things with letting you dictate the flow of the story and giving you plenty of options so it felt like you'd have a very different playthrough to everyone else.
Another slightly older title, Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I re-played this again on Xbox earlier this year and it holds up really well. Wouldn't recommend the PC/Mac versions though, found the controls very odd and it quickly gets annoying that you can't fire with any great degree of accuracy.
