My wife broke down and got the Fold 3, but now in a predicament of losing the headphone jack (coming from the Note 9). I have zero experience with these, so I'm here asking if there's any specific brands to get or avoid? Secondly, do I need one with an integrate DAC, or just a pass through adaptor?

I bought these two and have had great performance on my Fold³ with both.

Congrats on the device and here's my solution: grab Samsung's own... good luck! ✌

Or use it as an opportunity to discover the wonders of Bluetooth connectivity?

You can go for full on wireless BT earphones/buds or do what I do which is use a small BT receiver clipped to my belt which I use with my normal wired earbuds. Although I do pack a USB/aux adaptor as well in case I ever get caught out with the BT adaptor running out of power (running time per charge of these tend to be around the six hour mark) which is when I get reminded of the extra faff of handling a phone with earbuds plugged in.

We thought about it, and I use it in my work truck out of necessity. My car has it built in, but it sucks due to being poorly implemented and hard to connect. We just prefer the simplicity, reliability, and sound quality of a wired connection.
