Hey everyone! I've been a watcher from afar for a while now, haha, and I wanna get into the world of Android now. I've been using a BlackBerry Bold 9700 for a year now, and it's failing on me. The screen won't work anymore.

Anyway, so instead of rolling back to the ooolllddd Blackberry Curve, I thought I'd maybe try an android device. It's only got to hold me off until this November, when my contract ends.

So I was wondering, do you guys have suggestions on what phone to get? Nothing new, my budget's REALLY tight. I was gonna go for the G1, but I realized I don't know anything about the phones released around then. Anyone mind pointing me in the right direction?

Hi, curveoncracke.
Welcome to the Android world and to the forums. There are so many awesome phones to choose from.

First off, which carrier are you with? Second, which phone you have your heart set on?

I'm letting you know right now, whichever phone you choose - you have a win-win situation.

Note: A newer android phone would be a big plus. :)

Enjoy the forums.

Oh, right, I forgot to say, my bad, haha. I'm with T-Mobile.

And I'm planning on getting a newer Android phone later, near the end of the year, I just need something to hold me off until then.

As of now, I don't really know about anything more than the G1 from back then. I know about all the newer phones, but not the originals, haha. That's what I was hoping I'd get some help on, haha.

I'm on Sprint - so I'm not quite familiar with T-mobile phones.
I suggest you go either on EBay or Craigslist to see if you could find a used android phone to hold you over until then.

Note: Make sure It's a T-mobile phone.

you can try the G1 bill make it easy for you from transition of blackberry to android because of the built in keyboard. You can get one probably rooted on ebay and stocked with maybe a newer version of android. Of course you could also try the mytouch slide also built in keyboard get on ebay off contract also probably flashed.

G1, g2 or mytouch 4g. Either one you can't go wrong. They are all nice. I would suggest playing with one and see how you like them.
