Suggestions to a new Verizon S5 user?

Hey everyone I just got a galaxy s5 a few days ago and activated it today. Is there anything I should change or do to it? So far I added download booster and changed to art run time. I also added nova launcher because I like the look of stock android. Any advice would help. Thanks.

Disable bloatware apps which isn't important, root if you want to delete them
But rooting voids warranty and knox will be 0x1

Welcome to Android. The first thing I normally to is.

1.) Disable bloat were.

2.) download SwiftKey Flow keyboard

3.) I personally could use third party launchers like nova launcher. But I like touchwiz interface.

4. I use Fenix for my twitter app it is clean and stable.

5.) setup Security password for your device of course.

6.) Your choices are not limited you can use this forum to get more insight on Android.

7.) one thing I would look into is getting a tempered glass screen for your device. It helps protect against scratches and prevents your screen from breaking. Don't go for the cheap kind though.

That Nova launcher you added has one tremendous feature that made it my default launcher.

It will save all of your apps and Home Pages complete with the folders.

If you ever need to reset your phone, you will be glad you have Nova's backups.

and you need Helium

I recommend Google Keyboard. It is the stock Android keyboard.

Thanks for the input. So far getting used to the phone. I'm coming from the droid maxx which is pretty much stock android so enjoying some of these new features. What the deal with that 3.0 USB port?

The usb 3.0 job is just to transfer data faster with computer
But some people say it charge phone faster

What the deal with that 3.0 USB port?

It will ONLY provide you with faster data transfers PROVIDED that your PC or other device also has USB 3.0


Charging rate is NOT effected, as the ONLY charging wire circuit is contained in the USB 2.0 port.

Pretty sure most launchers you can save a backup. I know I can with ADW and Next . It's not exclusive to Nova .
