Sum1 please explain how 'pull' email works

So I finally figured out how to add my corp email to sync with my X. I realize it is not push but rather 'pull'. Can someone please explain to me how exactly this works and WHAT ARE THE BEST SETTINGS under 'email delivery'?

For example: I just opened up my corp email folder and upon opening it, it automatically refreshed and an email was pushed that was sent from my boss at 10:17pm last night. My fetch schedule is set to every 15 minutes. Why didn't this email get pulled hours ago? Note: I have 'data push' enabled. What is benefit of data push and how could it affect my emails getting pulled? Should I have data push enabled? Please help, thanks!

I am having the same issue. Seems I only get my corporate emails when I open the email folder. I understand the exchange sync has issues which will hopefully be addressed in froyo, but any help with the settings would be appreciated!! TIA

Pull email is simply the phone going into your email account to see if there are new emails. If you have it set to do this every 15 min. it will check it every 15 min.

You guys must be having exchange issues. I have a few domain emails and have no trouble getting them. Sorry I can't help with that since I don't use exchange.
