Does anyone know if there's any issues looking at the screen with sunglasses on? Polorized and not polarized? Would love to see reviewers try this. Thanks!

I don't think that would be a problem, but i'd recommend going into Sprint at launch and testing it out for sure. Or you could go to a bestbuy and try out the 3ds and see if there are any problems.

The way the 3D works on this device would mean no to that. It's not like real-D 3D, it's two images separated on the screen using the parallax barrier. Either it'll show two images next to each other so the right eye sees one image and the left eye sees a different, or it'll alternate frames very quickly to get the 3D effect. So no, sunglasses would not affect the 3D viewing on the evo3D

The screen is just a sort of compound LCD screen, so it shouldn't look any different through polarized sunglasses than an Evo. Try going to a Sprint store and looking at other phones with your sunglasses on to see what effect it will have. I know looking at my old Moto Razr with the RealD 3D glasses on would make the colors look weird, so it's worth checking out with your sunglasses :)

I think the OP was asking about the coating on the screen. The one on the iPhone makes viewing it with sunglasses nearly impossible. You should be fine with this phone.

I notice a little diatortation on my with my prescription sunglasses on

I was responding to his concern of polarized sunglasses. I'm not sure what sort of coating there is on an iPhone, but I think going to a cell phone store and playing with an Evo with whatever special sunglasses you have on should tell you what you need to know :)

I don't own an iPhone, but I do know that I can't see the screen AT ALL on my iPad when wearing my polarized sunglasses. Add that on top of not being able to use the iPad outside in the sun and you can see why I'm shopping for a 7" galaxy tab for outdoor use.

The 3D won't work with polarized glasses. Go try looking at a Nintendo 3DS through a pair.

I guess this makes sense. We know that the "slits" of the parallax barrier are vertical which may in effect vertically polarize the screen. When coupled with polarized sunglasses, which are typically horizontally polarized to block sun ray being reflected off the ground, it would in effect not any light through i.e. you wouldn't see anything.

I would assume that a pair of non-polarized glasses would work fine though. They might cause enough interference though to impact the experience. I've been wondering how well some of the screen protectors will impact this. It's possible, but unlikely, they could negatively impact the 3D effect. I guess we'll know for sure in a week and a half. lol
