super slow 3g internet browsing. Fix?

I have a question. I did mess with a Photon at the Sprint store for a minute but didn't browse the web. Just wanted to check out the ui. Anyway I saw a post here that said that on the Photon you can only browse using mobile view. Is that true? I kind of find that hard to believe but since I didn't see for myself thought I would ask. Thanks!

Just looked in the browser settings on my photon and don't see a setting to switch to or from mobile view. I have found that pages load default in mobile view, but all pages have a link at the bottom to "view full site ". I am looking at AC full site right now on my photon. Still can't decide whether to return it for the 3D. Love both phones.

Try "Sdincrease" from market. It sets the read ahead buffer to a value of your choice.
I changed mine from 128 kb to 2048 kb. The speed increase is noticeable.

It does require root, since system parameters are changed on YOUR phone.

Sprint had the first 4g but its the worst!, they just rushed it out for bragging rights.

Verizon took their time and it by far the fastest!! Its the carrier not really the phone

For anyone having slow 3G issues, try the tip suggested at the following link. Note that you will need your unique MSL code from Sprint (if you don't have it, simply call up Sprint tech support and ask for it, they gave me mine with no issue).

How to boost HTC EVO 3D data speed

I don't know how good Motorola are at making antennas but it can't be any worse than the 3D. The reception on the 3D is worse than the evo 4g for both 3G and 4G.

The photon looks ugly to me and I'm not a big fan of blur. If it wasn't for my tmo contract being up, I would have waited to get a galaxy s2.

Oh and lol @ the guy who said tmo's 3G is as fast as sprints 4G. What utter bs.

No BS here bud..I guess it depends where you live.. Sprints 4g is like 4-6 mbps when I had my Tmobile Vibrant my 3g was 4.5-5.5 mbps. Im in Central FL btw. Sprints 3g here is a joke.

I've been dealing with slow 3g data speeds (0.1-.03Mbps) during the day time here in San Diego for the past 4 weeks, nights are ok with speeds of 1.5-2.4Mbps. I've called Sprint 8 times and have received 2 credits so they must know some things up with their service. They also sent me a free Airwave for my house.

They had me do a data reset, update my profile, update PRL but still no fix.

And yes I did the 3g data fix but see no differece here.

After reading this it seems to be well across the board.
From Sprint being over loaded, to some EVO 4G, EVO 3D and Photons having poor or good receptoin. Some having poor or good data speeds.

I will say this, using the same tower at different times of the day, and even different days, i have noticed significant increase and decrease in speeds. This is called Loading.
I also noticed different in speeds from one device to another. Thats normal as some devices have more layers and different modems, and different well everything.
I think what it boils down to is if your unhappy with a device try to fix it or get it replaced.
