Super Su issue

Hey there forum,

So I used Kingroot to root my GT-I9195i (4.4.4).

When I go on SuperSu I get a message that says:

"The SU binary needs to be updated".

I went "continue" and then "normal" way to install the SU binary.

But I keep getting "Installation failed!" and when I click on "how to update" the first method is to install SuperSume which I can't find on the Android store and Method 2 seems too complicated.

Any idea?

I had this same issue on my S4mini (running CM-12.0). Could not find any solution until doing two things first: (1) Updated my ROM to the latest CM-12.0, and (2) Updated Super SU to its latest version. After that, I open'd Super SU and it updated binaries successfully. BTW now I have CM-12.1, which gives root access without needing the Super SU app.

CM doesn't support GT-I9195i for what I understood.

It does support GT-I9195 but the "i" makes a different by different posts I've found.

Am I wrong and it is supported or there's another solution?

I believe you are correct. The CM developer (arco68) for S4mini models 9190 and 9195 posted some time ago that while he was interested in seeing an S4mini-plus model had become available, he was not interested enough to build for it. Apparently nobody else has come to the rescue either. Still, there should be some way for you to get the binaries you need for Super SU to work. Have you tried different versions of SuperSU, e.g. the last version built for 4.4?

Wrong! There IS a CM-13 ROM for your model, on xda. It's not an "official" cyanogenmod build, but probably way better than stock KitKat because it's Marshmallow based. Plus, the dev is considering whether to build CM-14, i.e. porting Nougat to your phone.
