I just heard on the AC podcast around 57 mins in, that the Axon 7 doesn't support Voice over LTE or Voice over WiFi on any network that has these such as T-Mobile. Does anyone have an Axon 7 on T-Mobile and can confirm or refute this?

"Finally, ZTE says that the Axon 7 will support T-Mobile band 12 LTE, VoLTE, and Wi-Fi Calling. When it comes to wireless connectivity, the Axon 7 supports LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 17, 20, 25, 26, 29, 30, and 31. Also included is support for 2+4, 2/4+12, 2/4+29, 2/4+5, 41+41, and 25+25 carrier aggregation."

At present though still no such support of these carrier features. I want to buy this phone and use it on TMobile and hope we see something soon.

I have T-mobile prepaid and ZTE Axon 7. I have not been able to figure out how to activate WIFI calling on T-mobile. It seems likely this feature has not been activated yet. I am not confident T-Mobile will include this feature on the Axon 7, as well. They would probably reserve it for their own phones. Of note, I did have WIFI calling via T-Mobile on my LGG4, but I bought the LGG4 through T-Mobile.

I am coming from an unlocked 6P that I bought from Amazon. Wifi calling worked fine on T-Mo once they turned it on. I expect they will do the same for the Axon 7.

ZTE claimed VoWiFi should work out of the box, but B12 and VoLTE would require a software update. Which didn't make much sense to me since VoLTE and VoWiFi are chained together pretty tightly in T-Mo land, so VoWiFi probably needs the same software update. But I don't think it'll take all that long. I'm waiting for the grey one to ship on 8/17 anyway, and from what I hear there's already an update cooking.

Any update on the Wi-Fi and LTE support from T-mobile user here?

VoLTE is supported for T-Mobile, according to ZTE forums they are just waiting for T-mobile to approve the certification to use Wifi calling.

And to answer your question in your other post today, a summary, the best phone in the $400 range, simply a Flagship device with a mid range price. Since I got mine 3 weeks ago, I haven't used my galaxy S7 edge that until then was the best phone I've ever had.

Thanks. Could I ask have you noticed any weakness in holding signal compared to your Edge? These poor antena reports still keeping me from pulling the trigger.

No difference in Signal Strength in fact I have done tests side by side and the difference was 1% one over the other and then after the refresh they automatically do it was the opposite, so in general it was the same. I think people are just seeing less Signal bars and are doing this whole show about it as if the Signal bars could tell the whole story, the real information comes from the Signal Strength and not from the bars, Carriers and OEMs can do what they want with the bars to appear having more signal that they do, but nothing can fool Signal Strength.

I did a Speedtest comparison and they were basically the same in Downloads but for some reason in the Uploads the Axon 7 was ALWAYS 2 or 3 MBPS faster than the S7 edge.

That's a real bummer, I rely on WiFi calling in a couple places, I hope they address this soon, until then it's a no go for me. but I really like this phone.
