It doesn't look like it will matter to anyone outside of China because that's the only country it will be sold in.

Maybe at the moment. But I think it'll spread. The market is so boring, they need something to jazz people up to get them to trade up.

Correct only people that wanted to import phone got it for use outside it's release country

Typically these special edition releases don't make it over to other parts of the world.

Eastern markets tend to get products not available in Western markets. I think the designs just don't appeal as much to Western consumers. That seems to be the case with many different products, not just phones. For example, Seiko sells many watches only in the Japanese market. Anyone outside of Japan needs to order the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) watches from a Japanese retailer.
