Call me slow, but I just now noticed if you hold an app in the app tray and drag it to a screen, you get 'more option's and one of those is delete.
SO much easier to chunk an app now.
Well, heck yea.

yeah thats slow. Why don't you just press on the app with one finger and then uninstall that way

That's what he was referring to.

If you're in the app drawer and long press an icon, you can either drag it to a homescreen or drag up to "Other Options," which is where you can uninstall. Tapping it once would only open the app. This is with stock, of course.

I've always just long pressed the app in the app draw.... a little red x comes up on the app... hit it and it deletes it.

That doesn't happen for me on stock JB.

My son say's it was on ICS..
If it was on ICS, I never saw it. All i know is it's very convenient now.

Strange. Do you have the accidental JB release from Xmas Eve or the official one in March?

I have stock and I only get a more options/delete if I try to drag it to a screen. Otherwise, it just opens the app.

the red X option comes up when removing app from home screens and is at the top. there are some 3rd party launchers that offer what you describe being directly on the app though. They don't typically uninstall though.
