Swapping HDD drive

I have the acer C710-2847 chromebook. Im looking to get a new one but i want to take the HDD from the old one and put it in the new one. a SSD and HDD are not interchangeable correct? which chromebook is a good buy to swap drives?

Well, to my knowledge, there aren't many (any?) newer Chromebooks that use a SATA 2.5" drive size, such as the C710. Most have moved on to Embedded Multimedia Card (eMMC) Storage or M.2 card-like format SSDs. Since you are using a standard 2.5" size, I would recommend buying an external HDD enclosure and running the HDD from the C710 off of USB 3.0.
