Because of my big clumsy fingers I found that the stock keyboards on the at&t galaxy s2 didn't work well. I was using smart keyboard for a few weeks and loved it, however on a whim I purchased SwiftKey X ... Wow! .. This keyboard is on fire and the autocorrection rivals that of what I experienced on the iPhone. Great Software!

Yeah, it's that good. I have been looking for reasons to type on my gs2 since I installed it.

Yes there is a lot to love about swype, would be a great keyboard to Incorporat the best of both worlds.

The new Swype beta seems to work a lot better than the pre-installed version, I had too uninstall Swype to get the new version but it works a lot better

Three questions:
1 - what is better about the new version of Swype?
2 - how do you uninstall the version on the phone?
3 - where do you get the newer version (I didn't see it in the market)

I really like Swype but I keep hitting the microphone by mistake). thanks

The predictions seem much more precise and correct, and the keyboard layout (to me) seems a lot better.
You have to be rooted, and download Titanium Backup.
Its not in the market, you have to signup here

I will say again that it is Beta so I won't promise it will be stable, or always work correctly. I haven't had any issues, but you never know.

Been using SwiftKey X since it was free Amazon App of the day. LOVE IT. Haven't used any other since.

Its funny I tried using the stock gingerbread keyboard and couldn't do it.

I dunno if it was just me, but when I had my captivate, I typed like a champ using the android keypad. Get the S2, and for some reason, I can't type well at all with either keyboards, on a bigger screen. So I tried out a few keyboard apps and landed with swift. Love this keyboard.
