I know the certification doesn't guarantee water tightness with immersion over 90 minutes but...Has anyone tried it to see if the HRM works and if it tracks the activity? Doing freestyle wouldnt be constant immersion. ;-)

Thanks!

You have a point about freestyle swimming! ;) Though I do not have a Gear S3, I do have a smartwatch variant. It "claims" to be water resistant to a certain degree (i.e., when washing your hands, etc.); but I still don't necessarily test its limits (for example, when I'm showering or washing the dishes, I take it off). I would not recommend getting it wet for long periods of time!

The thing with swimming is you'll be creating pressure against the watch doing strokes. The watch is only rated for submersion.
