Is there a way to enable swipe down on home screen for notifications?

As opposed to? Swiping down from the top of the screen is the normal way. If you want to be able to get notifications by swiping down anywhere on the screen, Nova Launcher can do that (in its Gestures section).

You can also set it so that a swipe down on the fingerprint sensor brings down your notification panel.

Am aware of this. But I prefer swipe down on homescreen after using note series. I like pixel launcher more than nova or others and so checking if it is possible with an app.

If your set on having the swipe down by screen, maybe the accessibility menu enable won't work with full gestures, only 3 botton or 2 and on that accessibility menu on bottom you just tap notification to pull down.

Simple gesture that Google I guess had not figure out how to implement. I came from Note 9, it was a nice simple gesture. Drop down the notification panel from swipe down in the screen. But nooo, too much for Google to handle I guess.

Thanks for point that out. I am SHOCKED

Hahaha!! Well... I mean, it may never actually see the light of day, but if it's in code that's GOT to be at least some sign.

But then again, this is Android/Google... They may put it in code at launch, then turn around and take it right back out with a monthly update ... LOL!!:p
