Swipe down to access notification on Touchwiz

This has fixed my need to switch to Nova for gestures now.

Not sure because I seldom use TouchWiz for more than a day (and just to see what's new), but I could have sworn this gesture has been on the Note 7 (RIP) and S8 since launch...

Anyway, still going with Nova. More gestures to choose from and apply to actions, plus other options TouchWiz yet lacks.

You could always swipe down from the top of the screen to access the notification shade but not from anywhere on the screen like you can with the swipe down gesture in Nova launcher. Previously, the swipe down and swipe up gesture on the homescreen in TouchWiz has been designated for the app drawer. If you haven't downloaded the APK test it out and you will see what I mean.

Yeah, I remember the gesture from the early days of using both devices. Pretty sure (and no, I don't mean swiping from the top, I do mean just swiping down on the home screen). Swipe down for notifications, Swipe up for App Drawer.


UPDATE: Well, now I'm not sure I remember it or it's my mind playing tricks or it was there on an early version and then disappeared, but you're right, on TW you swipe up/down for app drawer now, no notification shade. Weird. Oh well, seems to be coming (back?) anyway.

You have to long press on the home screen, go into homescreen settings and activate it.

Me too. I've disabled nova after this update lol. Touchwiz is now great.

Its not TouchWiz any longer, touchwiz died with the S7, it is now a UI called the Samsung experience. Our devices run 8.1, the note 8 is running 8.5, our devices will be updated to 8.5 with either 7.1.1 or 8.0 bringing a smoother OS and UI experience withe retina detection enhancements and overall speed and ram management enhancements. So for the love of god stop calling it TouchWiz, just go to settings and click on about device, you will see Samsung experience 8.1 not damn touchwiz, they are two different UI's so all the haters can can move on and bag on LG for their UI now,and stop saying that the S8 and S8+ use TouchWiz.

Swipe down for notifications has been built into the OS since launch. Its not just a touchwiz/samsungUI thing. There's also the swipe up for samsung pay gesture provided that you use it on the homescreen.

Go into settings, go under apps, click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner, go into default apps and under home screen what does it say? "TouchWiz Home". Case closed. Even Samsung itself names it TouchWiz still. I understand what you are saying but that's what it's till called on the phone.

It's an APK. Check the link in my post above. I have ATT as well and all is good here.
