Hi everybody- I searched for this and surprisingly found nothing. I really like using the fingerprint scanner on my S5 with Lollipop to unlock the phone. But what I don't understand is that I have to swipe to unlock which activates the fingerprint scanner and then I have to scan. Why can't I just hit the home or power button and be taken directly to the fingerprint scanner?

Does anybody know? Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by swipe to unlock? On stock Lollipop lockscreen, you just turn on the screen by pressing the home or power button. Then you swipe your finger over the home button to unlock the phone. Are you using a third party lockscreen?

Hey Brian - No I am not using a 3rd party lock screen. Let me explain again. I am trying to achieve what you described I. E. Turn on the screen and swipe my finger over then home button to unlock. However I am getting an intermediate screen. It is the same screen as the swipe to unlock (lowest security option) without doing which which I cannot see the prompt to scan my finger.

Hope that helps.
