Swiping down?

Is it normal, when swiping down from the top that the curtain showing any notifications such as messages, emails, apps running, etc.; that part of the settings menu also shows up?

I believe this just started today, and might be related to the Nov. Security update. Or I might not have noticed it before and was part of the Android 12 update. Or, just losing my mind.

It's always been that way on the Pixel 4XL. It's just more noticeable on Android 12 as the shade takes up the whole screen.

Ok. You sure are right about it being noticeable. I guess with the smaller icons before 12, I just never paid any attention.

Just thinking, I remember now. Normally just a small row of round icons then the notifications. Guess over the 18 months I grew so used to that small row I never noticed it; that is until Android 12 where they can be viewed from the moon.
