Current thunderbolt owner, due for an upgrade this month. Was thinking of going to the bionic. This was my 1st htc phone, i had og DROID then DROID X, so I'm used to the moto style. Is the bionic superior to the bolt? Your thoughts. Thanks in advance!

Wait a few months and see what's in the pipeline. The Bionic is nice, but has some issues and isn't a giant leap over the tbolt. With the next round of 4g devices due before the end of the year, its definitely with waiting a bit in my opinion.

Verizon sent me a bionic to replace my 5th tb. So far after just a week, I love this compared to my tb. No problems yet like the tb. Disclaimer-still in the honeymoon phase though.

I think it is superior in that it works to do normal tasks like make a call. I dont know if I would waste an upgrade though. I would probably wait to see what comes out and see what problems are there with the phones that are coming out.

I would agree. I would hang on to your TB for a bit and see whats out in the next 2 months.

The Bionic is nice, don't get me wrong, but its always better to have several devices to choose from. Rumor also has it that the Bionic should get an update (bug fixes) sometime in November.

agree with everybody else, wait a month there are several new 4G phones coming very soon. i.e. the HTC Vigor (Incredible HD), Nexus Prime.

I personally would wait for the Prime. Love my Bionic, but my wife is due for a phone upgrade starting today and I told her to wait for the Prime.

Do you have insurance? Or were all 5 warranty replacements?

I got rid of a TB to get the Bionic and wish I wouldn't have used my upgrade for this phone. The TB seems faster to me and the Bionic doesn't improve the battery life or 3G/4G hand-off any better than the TB which was what I was hoping for.

...What? Every phone I use now (including the Thunderbolt) feels SOOOOOO slow I can't stand it. And also whenever I pick up anything but a Droid X or Bionic now, it feels WAYYYY too small lol.
I haven't had too many issues with reception, but in some rooms at school I lose 4G reception. No big deal, I can use the school's WiFi if I absolutely need something, and 3G can get me most of everything I need. And I expect for the connection issues to be (partly) resolved in the November update (or whenever they plan on doing it).

All 5 warranty replacements.

To me my Bionic seems faster than all of my TB's but battery life is the same-HORRID
However the extended battery and back for the Bionic feel like a normal phone vs the tumor on the back of the TB known as the extended battery. I do miss the heck out of my kickstand though and think I like Blur better.

I have no problem with the screen on the Bionic. Both phones drop data. However I would usually have to restart the TB to get it to work again. The airplane mode works this way for my Bionic. I love the weight of the Bionic but miss the TB/Sense notifications...Much easier to see then the Bionic's

On Bionic, Home > Menu > Settings > Battery > Battery Mode > Battery Saver

Unless you NEED push updates for your email (ie you're required to use your phone by your employer), this eliminates the stand-by radio power draw. You'll see a HUGE increase in battery life with this mode enabled. It only refreshes your accounts when you turn on the screen and for 15 minutes afterwards.
