Hey everyone! Happy to be here. My first smartphone was an Android phone and I loved it. It was one of the many things that fueled my passion for technology.

And I'm not gonna lie when I got the iPhone I thought it was a piece of art. But now, I can't stop feeling like my iPhone is stealing my life from me. I know that sounds dramatic but my screen time has gone through the roof over the past few years. Ever since the pandemic really.

So I decided to get a Pixel 8. Slightly older so that it didn't have all the new bells and whistles for me to waste time with. And I'm already so much happier. Since you can customize Android's so much more I feel like I can make it work for me if that makes sense..

Well anyway glad to be a part of this community and glad to be an Android user once again!

Hope we can connect.

Welcome to AC forums! You don't really sound dramatic to me. The iphone is a jail, or a "walled garden" and has various other malicious functions (you might have heard of jailbreaking iOS, but I assume it's harder to perform than rooting Android devices and probably impossible now. Correct me if I'm wrong in this part since I never owned anything Apple). It does steal your life from you. I hope you enjoy Android. You can customize it so much just because it's open source. Pixels are really the best phones to start with. And I'm curious, what was your first android phone?

Ya I used to jailbreak my iPod touch and iPhone back in the day but even with that you can't do as much as an unrooted Android phone. Ridiculous!

My first Android phone? I think it was a Samsung Galaxy S3 or S4 with TouchWiz. Haha TouchWiz was terrible but I loved it.

I hear you. I refused to consider Samsung devices when TouchWiz was a thing. I used Moto, Nexus, and LG devices at that time. I only started using Samsung devices starting with the S10+.

Welcome back to the green side, and I'm glad you've joined our community.

A big part of me joining the green side was RCS Messages! Happy to be here
