hey guys,

I'm running harmonia 1.7 on my lg optimus v and lately i've gotten into some semi heavy gaming on my phone. I've heard that IHO is alot better for gaming than harmonia. recently I tried Backside because it looks really nice but i didnt like its in call settings so i went to switch back. I have xeonia recovery or whatever its called. when i went to restore my harmonia back up it says "md5 mismatch" is there anyway to fix this or am i forever doomed to re-flash IHO and harmonia when i want to switch? thank you

Unless theres a bunch of apps or data you want to save in the process, reflashing the IHO rom shouldnt take any longer than using a backup. I suppose thats what your trying to avoid but.. im not sure with your issue going on here. i use rom manager to save backups and havent had any issues with that, and i even messed up romming over from stock, and had to restore back to stock and try again. (ie: rom manager works well ha.)

i started looking around and i think its because i put spaces and .'s in the name when i renamed the back up. i have a ton of data on my phone so i dont wanna lose it but im gonna try it again and just name on harmonia and the other cm7. lol i hope that works

heres what you do.

1. update your recovery. the new IHO recovery doesnt have this error and can flash both roms. that md5 mismatch is specific to an older CWM recovery, I had it to, the IHO is a newer CWM recovery that fixes it and can flash and restore both roms.

2. after you flash the new recovery, flash a FRESH rom, set it up how you like, and backup it in cwm. same for the other rom.

3. restore each rom when needed, you shouldnt have to wipe between restores, but I do it anyways.

side note - if you use GO SMS, you can backup text messages between the roms so the texts are always current regardless of what you back up to. even if you use the stock SMS app, when GOsms restores them, they show in the stock app too. you could set GOsms to not show notifications and use it solely to backup SMS's

also, for gaming.... the entire phone is just ehh.. When I had a Galaxy S, I was gaming on android, when I moved to the OV, it was just a huge disapointment.

of course I've seen people go from a feature phone to the Optimus one line (OV, OM, LGV, etc) and think its great. but when you get a 1GHz phone with a good GPU, then you finally be able to experience the higher quality and caliber android games (a lot of which are quite good!)
