Switching for portrait to landscape

Most of the time this works perfectly on my phone, but at other times, it doesn't work at all.

Anyone else experiencing this? Getting ready to take it back for another one.

On which screen. Once you change the wallpaper the home screen will no longer change. But all the others should.

I'd say I usually wait half a second, 1 second at the most.

Any one that allows landscape. Messages, FB, Twitter, gmail, etc.

That sounds about right when it's working. Other times, like this morning, it wouldn't change at all. A few hours later I pick up the phone to take if in for an exchange, and it's working perfectly.

I don't know how accelerometers work, so was wondering if this is a hardware problem, or software.
