This is a little off topic and i'm sorry in advanced, but i have a question about switching from a family plan on at&t to an individual plan on verizon to get the thunderbolt. Will I be able to get my number ported over from the family plan i am on currently without it canceling the other lines on the plan? I am NOT the main account holder if that matters.

Yes you will be able to, cell numbers are stand alone objects. The only issue would be if you WERE the primary number on the family plan. But since you are not, you are fine. When you cancel your line, they will give you this special code, numbers and letters, that you take to Verizon that they have to put into their system and then your number gets ported.

Port you number over will not cause any issue with your existing family plan if there are more than 2 phone left on the family plan after you leave and you are not subject to an ETF (Early Termination Fee). You might want to have the primary on your AT&T account call AT&T and talk to them to be sure everything is ok.

My step-daughter just took her line off our family plan and it was very easy.
