hello, i just got a rezound friday, after crushing my incredible and trying a razr maxx for a couple days. i am having an issue with it and i wonder if anyone can tell me if it is a typical rezound thing. the first night i had it, it was losing the data connection off and on - it was set to lte/cdma. at my house, where i was at first, i don't get 4G. i came into the city, where there is 4G, and there was no connection at all until i got back to where only 3G is available. then it went in and out of connection when i got back home. the next day verizon switched out the 4G card, saying that might help and if not they will replace my phone. it has not solved the problem. i have been leaving it in cdma only at home, then trying to switch to lte/cdma when i come into town. but it then does not pick up any data connection. i think if i restart the phone each time, it would work, but should i really have to do that?? my question is, is this normal for rezounds, or if they give me a new phone should it work porperly? i don't want to start from scratch with a phone for the third time if it won't even help. thanks for any input.

Sometimes switching to 4G requires a reboot. Nothing, not even airplane mode will bring it back. Just curious, what app are you using to switch? LTE Switch?

Dial ##778# then select "Edit Mode." Password is 000000. Select "Modem Settings." Select "Rev A." Select "Enable" Hit Ok. Hit your Menu button. Hit "Commit Modifications" Restart your phone.

That should fix your issue:)
Good Luck

To switch from CDMA (3g) to LTE (4g) dial *#*#4636*#*# and select phone settings. Select the drop down menu on the bottom of the page and select LTE Only. Only 4g or 1x will be your radio. This should fix your issue. If not, go to Verizon or do a Factory Reset

That's the long-hand version of what LTE switch does. I don't use it personally...no point I'm on 4G all the time. But it's good information for people that don't already know.

i am just going into the settings for mobile network and switching- not using an app or anything. thanks everyone, i guess i'll try that number thing, but if all that does is switch it like i already am, then i don't know...

also, if switching requires a reboot to pick up 4G, does it simply not pick up anything though without the reboot? and really do people always reboot their phone each time they switch that setting? thanks!

My rezound had some data drop issues for a week or two similar to what you descibed. It could have been my network though and I have had no issues for months now. I use an app for a switch that just takes you to the page that the stock switch is on. It is mor convenient but does not change the setting within the app. I think it's called 4g toggle or something.

I can't remember the menu, I think it under the battery settings, what are your power settings? Anything other than performance will give you radio issues. I believe this is why ics does not have these settings anymore.

thanks, i do have the power set to high performance.
i'm quite sure there is no setting issue, it's a matter of this being a normal occurence for the rezound or not. i was going to get that 4G switch app yesterday, but it just opens up the menu, it's not like it toggles between the two. i suppose it cuts out a couple steps, but it'd be nice if there were an actual one step switch.
i am hoping that someone who switches often can say if they have to restart the phone or not to get any connection after switching to lte/cdma. that really seems unreasonable if you have to shut down each time.
if it's just my phone, the verizon store already said they'd give me a new one. i'm just really tired of wasting time in there and also setting up the phone for the third time if i don't need to . thank you
