If there is anyone who has switched from a nexus 6, can you share your experience?

I'm considering the galaxy s7 because I need a great and reliable camera on a smartphone (of course I have a DSLR for serious photos, but I need to be able to take very good photos from my phone).

Other than that my last two phones were nexuses (4 and 6), so I'm a bit nervous about switching to a non nexus.

However, I can install the Google now launcher and I've read that I can use a theme that would make things look very close to stock android.

I guess the remaining irritations would be the absence of on screen navigation keys, duplicate apps (s calendar, etc...) and slow updates.

Thanks for the feedback!

Edit: if you switched from a nexus, not necessarily the nexus 6.

That's a dramatic change. As you know, Nexus devices are pure Android. No bells and whistles. With Galaxy S7, you will get the bells and whistles.

I had a Nexus 6 with Project Fi all summer, from late May until Sept 2015.

Then switched to Sprint with a Galaxy S6, now I have a Galaxy S7 Edge.

I sure miss the pure Android and latest updates, but find I like the Samsung bells and whistles better, and the availability of accessories.

My advice, go to a big four carrier store and play with the S7, to make sure you like the S7.

My two cents.

Thanks for the feedback! What are the bells and whistles from Samsung you enjoy?

I remember playing with a galaxy s3 and I have to say I disabled all those extras things (what comes to mind right now is the phone keeping track of your eyes to see if you were still looking at the phone).

Just go to the Samsung website, it will tell you all you need to know.

Learn about the device, then get a working hands on, at your local carrier.

If you are looking for a good camera, the S7 is worth any concerns you have. It's a great phone and a great camera!
