Switching from the 360.

I realize this thread is about the 360 and not the LG, but they are essentially the same outside of looks.

I don't need a full fledged Android system on my wrist. I just want my watch to assist with notifications and I think the Gear does that superbly.

Originally I thought the camera was silly, but it has actually came in quite handy on several occasions

I think a lot of people think this way when asked about smart watches, that they're silly and just a gimmick. I can state with total conviction that the Gear is more than just a cool gadget. The ability to see texts and callers without having to be near your phone or pick it up is priceless. When you're in a situation where picking up your phone would be rude or unacceptable, glancing at your watch is a great alternative. It's also a relatively safe alternative when driving. So, unless you're someone who really doesn't value having this information right away, you will definitely see the value of it besides being a nice conversation piece. You're right on the camera as well. You may not use it a lot but it sure can come in handy at times.

Awesome. Thanks for the feedback. Both the black/silver and gold/brown are really nice imo. Leaning towards the gold/brown, now time to decide. Buy a lightly used one now or wait for the Gear S to launch and drop the price of the Gear 2 :)

Apples and oranges to me. The Gear S has a sim card and will require a data plan of some sort. I love the Gear 2 but it's simply an extension of my phone, not a replacement. I do not envision any situation where the S would be a benefit to me.

Same.

I see a Smartwatch as an assistant to help with notifications. An extension to my phone, not a replacement

The Samsung rep at Best Buy tells me there's been a lot of inquiry on this but honestly, unless you're engaged in an activity or job where you can't have a cell phone on you, I don't see this taking off but I could be wrong of course. Still, it is nice to have options.

I'm using ~25% battery life from 6AM - 9PM on my Gear 2. My other Gear 2 uses closer to 35 -40% over the same time but it has a problem with it (constantly resets settings, and moves around apps etc etc). I should just send it back under warranty already but its my girls watch and she doesnt care too much.

I kind of have this thing where I hate having something that doesn't do what it's supposed to do even if it's a feature I don't use. It's the principle of the thing. I'd get it fixed. After all, you never know if it'll end up being used by someone who does care.

His daughter may not want to be without the watch for the time it takes to get it fixed just to satisfy his desires??

Just an update to my watch that burns through the battery quicker than the other.

It was the "watch styler" app. Once I switched it to a different watch face that wasn't on watch styler, the battery life jumped up right there with my other one.

Hmmm. Interesting. Guess I never would have noticed because I actually like the ones that come on the Gear 2.

Yes. I have the Rose Gold version and the Silver also. I added a rose gold medal band to it. Love it.

I had both but I sold my 360 and bought another silver Gear 2. Hated the 360. Now I have the Gold and Silver.

I bought the Gear 2 Neo (didn't want a camera) and love it. I use it all the time. I have all my emails, texts, and garage door open alerts come to my watch.
I go through 25-30% battery a day, so I can go over 2 full days. I love the ability to change tracks and volume on my phone while listening to headphones.
Another thing I like and use more than I thought was the Schedule...I can quickly and easily see what's going on in the upcoming week.
My wife and I use Google Calendar for everything, sports, school, work, etc...
Using it make/take calls is cool, but not something I normally do except maybe driving.
The Gear 2 Neo was only $169 at Target so I pulled the trigger versus getting a 360 or LG.
