Switching to Verizon soon - what are standard Pixel deals for that?

Leaving crummy AT&T service for Verizon soon. I know they launch with the Pixel phones. If one is a brand new customer have you been able to get a deal on the new Pixel phone before? If so what do the deals usually look like? Thanks!

Have the Pixel 2 XL so looking forward to the 4.

I'm not sure when you're planning on switching. I would expect some sort of B1G1 offer for new lines at or shortly after launch. Best deals are going to be found around black Friday. In the past Pixels have been heavily discounted

I'm willing to wait until Black Friday or the holidays if those are the best deals to be found put it that way. I've dealt with AT&T for years now, a month or two extra doesn't matter too much. But I really want the Pixel 4 and want to get the best deal possible. Thanks.

This is usually the best time to get a phone. Being a new customer you might get a better deal when you switch. After the Pixel 4 launches you could check with Verizon to see what their deal is, and if you are comfortable with it, switch. Best Buy carries Verizon phones and they may have a good deal too.

"The best deal possible" can be hard to nail down, you will know "today's" deals, but never "tomorrow's" deal until tomorrow comes.

I got my pixel 2xl for $10 a month for 2 years a few months back. I've never seen a better price out there. That sale ended but... keep your eyes peeled?

Wait for the deals when it comes out or around Black Friday.

What part of the country are you in that Verizon is “better” than ATT?

Indeed. But if I see the Pixel 4 at near 10 bucks a month I will indeed jump on that one and be happy. Thanks!

I got my P2 for $350.00 on Christmas Eve 2 years ago, from Verizon.
I'm really hoping that I can get the P4 for an equally great deal this Christmas Eve.

The Verizon version of the Pixel is the US Pixel - with the bootloader permanently locked. Unless Verizon gives you a great price, buy the standard Pixel, in case you ever need to unlock the bootloader. (It's also worth more if you sell it - because you can unlock the bootloader.)

Always buy from Best Buy over Verizon when a discount is involved, even if the same amount. Because Verizon gives you a discount on the monthly plan over 24 months, but if you ever upgrade before the 24 months, you lose out on that discount. Best Buy gives you a straight up discount on the phone price ,and then you finance that over 24 months. But if you upgrade early (even a month later), you just pay the remaining balance which had the discount applied. If you were to upgrade a month later at Verizon, you would owe nearly the full retail price of the phone.

That is not always true. Sometimes Best buy does an instant discount. I got an knstant400 or 450 off my Pixel XL 3 last November. That seems to be rare though. Usually it's monthly bill credits just like Verizon

Pre-ordering the phone for Verizon - either via BestBuy or B&H, I'm assuming UNLOCKED is always the better choice? That correct? Got a big ole' question mark when I read this on B&H's website:

"This device is unlocked and should work fully with carriers listed below with green bars. Yellow bars denote partial network coverage. A SIM card and service plan must be purchased separately. Network compatibility listed here is for reference only and does not guarantee phone compatibility or activation on CDMA Carriers."

I'm sure this is just CYA verbiage...but, had to ask the question.

thx,

Black Friday at Best Buy. Last year's P3XL offer was $400 instant discount on a financed device, which can be immediately paid off at the discounted price if you want. No guarantee they'll repeat it this year but if they do it's hard to beat that deal just six weeks after product release.
