I'm sure this had been asked hundreds of times but one of my good friends just got a Dinc and asked how he can get swype on it. Is there a way and if there is could someone link me to the thread it is posted in? Thanks guys!

Thank you! I didn't read that before I posted so I apologize.

It's possible that they'll include it in a future OTA update as well. Swype is coming pre-installed on virtually every android device released after the summer, and I know they included Swype in the EVO's most recent OTA.

But yeah, just apply for the beta. They just expanded it a bit over a week ago, though, so if it's closed again, you may be in for a bit of a wait.

Swype Beta download problem

I signed up for beta and they sent me the link to download the installer, I tried it and it posted on my screen that my phone is not an android phone. My phone is a HTC incredible 2.2, brand new only about a month old.

Yup I received the notification from the android central app!!!! Thanks guys y'all are awesome!

I just put swype on my phone (htc incredible 2.2)and I love it. I'm using it right now and its pretty damn fast! I only wish I could disable the landscape keyboard because I'm quick on my thumbs but wanted swype for one-handed typing. I don't wanna stop typing I love using swype so much.

I recommend downloading it now while its open again even if you're not sure about using it yet.

I installed it and it's kinda rough on lefty's since you hand naturally covers quite a bit of the keyboard. I thought I knew the qwerty layout prety well... I was worng! ;)

It's goning to take a bit of getting used to, but I'm going to try it for a while.

You have to go to your browser settings and make sure mobile view is enabled. You should be able to download it after that.

I just downloaded swype to my dinc and everything went perfect except i enabled it and when the keyboard comes up no swype.

Press and hold in the text field. You should have a popup that says input method. Click that and select swype from there.

Shortly after installing Swype this morning my phone rebooted three times within 15 minutes while I was talking on the phone. (I know, I know... Who uses their phone to talk!?)

After uninstalling Swype -no reboots for the rest of the day. Anyone else have this problem?

I downloaded the beta for Swype and, though it's going to take some getting used to, I love it! I now look for a reason to text just so I can use it! Even my grandmother is impressed, And she doesn't even know what a text message is! Once again, I keep finding reasons to love my Droid Incredible. MERRY X-MAS!

I've been using Swype for a couple of days now and it really just takes some getting used to...as my brother told me you really just have to trust it and it will do the rest. I haven't had any problems or lockups since install and the install was fairly painless as well. My girlfriend had some problems getting it to run after install but these were solved by going into the swype installer app and disabling/re-enabling the software.
