Swype update question

Any idea as to when there will be an update for the Swype keyboard? The version I have which is the one that came with the phone has known bugs in it that have been fixed in the latest version.

According to a post in the Swype forums, the update has already been provided to the OEMs. Is the plan to wait for the 4.2 update (whenever that might be) and include the Swype update with the OS update?

I know that Swype 1.4.9 is available, but that's a beta version meaning that it won't work forever right?

the 1.4 beta is world's better. I don't think it will expire but we'll just upgrade when you do it manually later on. I've had it for months

I've already installed the Swype Beta.

What I don't understand though is if Swype has already sent the update to the OEM, then why hasn't it been released yet? What's the holdup?
